Introduction to SpringCharts Tutorials

Purpose
The purpose of SpringCharts Tutorials is to provide detailed instruction in the use of the many functions and features of SpringCharts EMR. Upon completion of the Tutorials, the user will be prepared to set up and use SpringCharts EMR in their practice.

Conventions
SpringCharts EMR Tutorials uses Bold Italics to indicate a specific product, component, feature, menu item, or action item in SpringCharts or related products such as NDC Medical Connect.

Screen Shots
The Tutorials make liberal use of screen shots to enhance the effectiveness of the instruction. SpringCharts is written totally in Java, and runs on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms in any combination. Screen shots used in a Tutorial may be either Mac or Windows screen shots. The content and functionality of the screen shots are the same for all platforms even though there are minor variations in the look and feel of the windows and dialog boxes.

Note: For some of the screen shots, the screen shot resolution had to be sacrificed to allow acceptable performance over dial phone lines.

Doctors' Experience with the Tutorials
When asked how he learned to use SpringCharts, Dr. Russell DeGroote made the following comments:

"If an EMR is not plug and play, it won't work for any doctor. I used the Test Drive to evaluate and learn SpringCharts and then compare it against about 20 other EMRs. Once I selected SpringCharts, I took the tutorials. All I needed was the tutorials and an easy to use EMR."
